In the rain shortened 9th match of 2010 Twenty20 World Cup, New Zealand beat Zimbabwe by 7 runs (Duckworth/Lewis method) in Group B on Tuesday, 4th May, 2010 at Providence. Zim bowled out on 84 runs in 15.1 overs and NZ made 36/1 in 8.1 overs.Zimbabwe got good start by Taibu 21 na d Masakadza 20 runs but then good bowling by Nathan McCullum and Scott Styris took 3 wickets while Vettori took 2 wickets and restricted them to 84. Match interrupted after the 8.1 overs and New Zealand were 36/1 ahead by 7 runs and won the match thus qualified for the Super 8.
